Now for the tutorial...this is what we will be making!
Panda Bear

It is assumed that you have a good working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro.
This tutorial uses vector shapes.
I made this in PSP 12, but it can be done in all other versions too.

Open up a transparent image size around 650 x 450  16 million colours (24 bit).
Don't forget to save as you go along.

Color pallet I used, but feel free to use any color you like.

Add a new Vector Layer-Body
Click on the Preset Shapes set to ellipse,
foreground set to null, background the third color.
Draw the ellipse, and shape as shown.
Add a new Vector Layer-Front Leg
Click on the Preset Shapes set to ellipse,
foreground set to null, background the first color.
Draw the ellipse, and shape as shown.
Add a new Vector Layer-Back Leg

Add a new Vector Layer-Front Leg (Back)

Drag this layer beneath the body layer.
Add a new Vector Layer-Nails
Click on the Preset Shapes set to ellipse,
foreground set to null, background the sixth color.
Draw the ellipse, and shape as shown.
Make four nails.
*note* I did group the nail layers, hold down the shift key,
and select the 4 layers, rightclick and choose group from the menu.
Add a new Vector Layer-Front Ear

foreground set to null, background the first color.

Draw the ellipse, and shape as shown.
Drag this layer beneath the body layer.
Add a new Vector Layer-Nose

Draw the ellipse, and shape as shown.
Add a new Vector Layer-Eye Spot
LOL...didn't know what it's called....had to give it a name!!
Click on the Preset Shapes set to ellipse,
foreground set to null, background the first color.
Draw the ellipse, and shape as shown.
Add a new Vector Layer-Eye Under
Click on the Preset Shapes set to ellipse,
foreground set to null, background color #635e59.
Draw the ellipse, and shape as shown.
Add a new Vector Layer-Eye
Click on the Preset Shapes set to ellipse,
foreground set to null, background color black.
Draw the ellipse, and shape as shown.
Add a new Vector Layer-Mouth
Click on the Preset Shapes set to ellipse,
foreground set to null, background color black.
Draw the ellipse, and shape as shown.
All Vectors are done
This is what you should have now.
At this point you can group all layers and save as a shape.
Convert all the layers. Lock the transparency on each layer before shading.
Shading the Body
Airbrush Settings I used

Use the brown colors....light and darker, also the the last color from the pallet.
Tap a little, not to much, but tap a bit more round the legs.
All will be different.... none are the same ever...lolol!!!
Use a bit grey for shading the neck and use a smaller brush size.
Jiggle
Now use Eye Candy Jiggle, with these settings.
Legs and Ears
Shade the same way as the body. For the legs and ears using only the darkest brown.
Jiggle the same as we did with the body.
Soften
Before using the soften tool, unlock the transparency on all layers.
I did use the Soften tool on the edges, with these settings.
Mouth
On the mouth layer, choose Gaussian Blur, settings 1 or 2.
Nose.
Shade the nose just a little, with a grey color.
Nails
On the nails layer, I did use a bevel.
These are the settings I used.
Almost there
I gave the eye a small white dot and used Gaussian Blur setting 2.
The Panda is done!!.
You can put something in his paws now!!
Anyway I hope you did enjoy this tutorial!!!
